Biographies and Interviews
Hi David! Thank you for taking time to answer a few questions. First, our readers would love to hear what you do in our industry?
My role is to be the creative visionary that will turn ideas into product. There's multiple ways a product can be delivered. I'm the expert who has the means & resources to deliver.
What is your claim to fame in the industry?
I guess that would be designing Action Figures…but I would rather it to be as a Friend and Lover of Pop Culture.
What has been your biggest achievement?
Understanding Learning from past mistakes
What was your biggest failure?
My biggest failure hasn't been a failure at all. The greatest failure is not trying…and I at least Try whatever interests me.
Do you have a mantra that you live by?
For The Culture. Everything….to spread the Culture of Fun & Play…to all Cultures.
Why and how did you get into the Toy and Game industry?
Honestly… because I enjoy it. The love of the joy of toys is what always drives me to be apart of this industry.
What are you working on now?
Reimagining toy lines from the 80'a with The Nacelle Company. Bringing Awareness, History, and sharing & providing opportunities with B.I.G.G. (Black Inventors Got Game). Working with my good friend Taboo of the Black Eye Peas on a very special project, and more. I love everything about Pop Culture, and I enjoy being affiliated in every aspect and corner of the culture.
(B.I.G.G. - Black Inventors Got Game Film: Elliott Eddie, Mason Williams, Ken Johnson, Albert White. LaMont Morris,
Charley Harrison, James Howard, David Vonner, Lonnie Johnson)
What has kept you motivated to stay in the toy industry?
Toys are one of the first and lasting things that binds all of us as human. I love being a part of that.
If you look back at yourself 10 years ago is this where you thought you’d be? Where did you think you’d be? What changed? What went right?
I have learned to just be in the moment. I could never have imagined this ride.
What was your favorite project to date?
All of them.
