Press Release

THE SARASOTA TOY MUSEUM, SET TO OPEN IN AUGUST ON 17TH STREET, PROMISES A NOSTALGIC JOURNEY WITH ITS IMPRESSIVE MODEL RAILROAD AND VAST COLLECTION OF VINTAGE TOYS. OWNED BY RICHARD PIERSON, THE MUSEUM FEATURES A PROFESSIONALLY BUILT HO SCALE TRAIN LAYOUT BY DAVID FRARY, SHOWCASING SEASONAL TRANSITIONS AND OVER 28,000 HANDMADE TREES. ADDITIONALLY, THE MUSEUM WILL DISPLAY A DIVERSE ARRAY OF ANTIQUE TOYS, FROM CAP GUNS AND TIN TOYS TO VINTAGE LUNCH BOXES AND STAR WARS COLLECTIBLES. THE MUSEUM AIMS TO OFFER AN ENGAGING EXPERIENCE FOR ALL VISITORS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH DISABILITIES, WHO WILL ENJOY FREE ADMISSION.

INSPIRED BY A TRIP TO THE VERMONT ANTIQUE MALL, PIERSON ACQUIRED AN EXTENSIVE TOY COLLECTION CURATED BY GARY NEIL OVER 40 YEARS. DESPITE INITIAL DOUBTS ABOUT TRANSPORTING AND ASSEMBLING THE INTRICATE TRAIN LAYOUT, PIERSON'S TEAM, INCLUDING THE SARASOTA BAY MODEL RAILROAD SOCIETY, SUCCESSFULLY REBUILT THE EXHIBIT. THE MUSEUM, COMPLEMENTED BY MOOSEHEAD TOYS AND COMICS, IS A TESTAMENT TO PIERSON'S DEDICATION AND PASSION, OFFERING A UNIQUE BLEND OF HISTORY, ART, AND INTERACTIVE FUN FOR FAMILIES AND TRAIN ENTHUSIASTS ALIKE.
