Yahtzee is a dice game with roots from dice games popular in a variety of cultures. The objective of the game is to collect the most points by rolling certain combinations of the five dice. Edwin S. Lowe, a game entrepreneur, was the first to trademark the game, doing so in 1956. In 1973, Milton Bradley purchased Lowe’s company, along with the rights to produce Yahtzee. Having acquired Milton Bradley in 1984, Hasbro currently produces the Yahtzee game.
