Job Description:
What will you work on?
The Associate, Inventor Relations is the ‘unicorn job’ of the Toy and Game industry. You will get hands on experience of the front-end creative process of the industries next generation of toys, games, and entertainment. You will be an ambassador for Spin Master and assist in discovering and converting obvious and unseen opportunities across the world. You will have the persona and vision to connect with the global invention communities as well as build partnerships with every function of one of the world’s biggest Toy, Game and Entertainment companies.
How will you create impact?
You will support the Vice President of Innovation and Inventor Relations in executing the Global Inventor Relations strategy across the broader Games, Outdoor, Plush and Activities Landscape. Ensure that the global invention community and licensor base maintains the highest regard for Spin Master Games and establish Spin Master Games as the #1 destination for new toy game and entertainment opportunities. Maintenance of the Spin Master Inventor wish list, working with each global business unit leadership team to filter and prioritize opportunities in line with overall strategy. Assist in identifying new opportunities and partners within the industry and other verticals. Forge solid relationships with Internal stakeholders in Brand, Product Development and leadership. Assist VP in legal procedures associated with licensing e.g. licenses, options, amendments and terminations. Monitor and drive progress of submissions through the internal review process.
How will you fit into the team?
You will be responsible for the daily management of internal database systems both current and forward thinking. Manage schedule of Inventor/Partner meetings for VP. Manage feedback from reviews to Inventor and Partners.
Manage intake of confidential IP (Physical models, Digital Assets) for review and return. Assist in running new concept reviews with the VP. Deck building for product and opportunity pitches. Assistance in generation of NDA/CONTRACTS/OPTIONS/LICENSES with Legal and VP. Help plan, co-ordinate and execute events within the company and Inventor community.
What are your skills and experience?
2-3 years Toy and Game industry or FMCG experience
Degree/Experience in:
Inventor Relations
Design/Product Development
Marketing/Brand/PR
Sales
Licensing
Business Development
Media/Communications
Impeccable Organization Skills
Ability to handle confidential data and IP
Great Presentation Skills
High relationship skills, sociable and outgoing.
Interpersonal and communication skills
Works well across many teams and personalities
