Position Description:
We are currently seeking a Product Development Associate to assist with the ideation and development of award-winning traditional and electronic toys that spark curiosity and imagination for kids ages 2-12. Product Development Associates shepherd new products through all phases of development including research, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing. They will work with a dynamic team, contributing to brainstorms, attending toy shows, and communicating with overseas manufacturers.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The individual in this role will:
Manage competitive research, ideation, vendor relations, preparation of detailed RFQs, content development, and testing to meet quality standards
Work with senior managers and designers to create, test, and refine functional prototypes using basic electronic components
Collaborate with other functional teams, meeting or beating agreed upon schedules and budgets
Evaluate product/line strengths and weaknesses, confirming that they support the overall brand and current needs of our customers and end users
Lead new product concepting and present products during annual line review process
Stay abreast of current market needs and trends especially as they affect areas of responsibility
Work with key individuals (Marketing, Sales, E-commerce) to ensure that all new and current products are being effectively marketed to customers and end-users
Work with the Creative and Marketing teams to manage the creation of activity guides, videos, and other resources that extend the play and add to the product’s value
Provide electronic product demos and trainings to support Sales and Customer Service needs

Requirements/Preferences:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferred field of study in toy design, engineering, electrical engineering, coding, robotics, or other related field
1-3 years of electronic product management experience OR bachelors degree in one of the listed preferred fields
Interest and functional knowledge in electronics, simple robotics, and/or coding
Able to meet multiple, challenging deadlines, and manage tight budgets
Excellent at solving problems creatively
Able to analyze basic financial data for assigned brands and/or categories and to make recommendations that support overall brand/product goals
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience with Adobe Creative suite preferred, not required
Able to effectively communicate with key stakeholders including colleagues, executive team, vendors, and customers
