Who you are
We’re looking for an experienced and versatile consumer goods Sales Manager who is hungry to grow our awesome brand across different retail channels. Our ideal candidate has experience in retail sales for either a toy company or kids related products and comes with the experience and the rolodex to support it.
You are passionate about consumer goods, kids education, and get excited about building the modern LEGO.
You are comfortable with short term sales activities, as well as long-term strategy.
You are a people-person who loves the rewarding challenge of building a brand.
You are a team player and worked with a small 10-20 people team in a small growing company environment and helped take a company from early stages to an established brand.
You have a passion for growth, and a strong understanding of performance metrics, channels and tactics.
Position Overview:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to increase market share and revenue. This role requires a proactive leader who comes with a rolodex but can also build strong relationships with key retail partners, sale-rep groups, distributors, and occasionally educational institutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the creative toy industry, experience in both B2B and B2C sales, and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company sales goals and objectives across various channels, including tier 1 and tier 2 retail.
Account Management: Manage and grow relationships with key accounts, including major retailers, and sale-rep partners. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the US domestic markets.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of sales representatives. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team meets sales targets and achieves professional growth.
Sales Reporting: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics. Prepare regular reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment on product launches, promotional activities, and customer support.
Trade Shows and Events: Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, customer meetings and events to promote products and build relationships with potential partners.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a management role within the toy, or kid related consumer goods industry.
Worked at a small/start-up fast growing company environment.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B and/or B2C environment.
Strong understanding of the educational toy market, including key players, trends, and customer needs.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
Willingness to travel as needed. (up to 15%).
Fluent in written and verbal English. Hunger for growth – able to think creatively and identify real-time areas of opportunity to meet goals.

Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with the education sector, including school systems, after-school programs, and educational distributors.
Knowledge of e-commerce sales strategies and online retail platforms.
