Katharine started Fashion Doll Studio in 2021when she remembered how disappointed she felt when she lost her Barbie®'s shoes.

She's not the only one. Doll collectors large and small have all had that problem, except for the ones who leave their dolls in their boxes, and the ones who super glue the shoes to the feet.

She invented a way for even very young children to make new shoes from the ground up using inexpensive, non-toxic materials. Shoes, whether simple or elaborate enhance dolls' play value.

As a person of play, Katharine constantly goofs around with design and materials. She makes elegant shoes with silks or leather. She makes conversation pieces with dryer lint, staples, kraft paper, curling ribbon and potato chip bags.
